Modern Slavery Statement
Camden Man and Van Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps Camden Man and Van has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking occurring within our business operations and supply chains. Camden Man and Van recognises that modern slavery is a serious crime and a fundamental violation of human rights. We are committed to acting ethically, with integrity and transparency in all business dealings.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Camden Man and Van operates on a strict zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking in any form. This applies to all areas of our business, including our workforce, subcontractors, suppliers, and any third parties acting on our behalf. We will not knowingly engage with any organisation that is involved in, or fails to prevent, modern slavery or human trafficking. Where concerns are identified, we will act promptly to investigate, address, and, where necessary, terminate relationships.
All employees, from management through to operational teams, are expected to support and uphold this commitment. Any breach of this policy by an employee may lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment, in line with our internal procedures and applicable law.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Camden Man and Van provides removal, relocation, and associated transport services. Our supply chains include, but are not limited to, vehicle providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging suppliers, and labour and subcontracted service providers. We recognise that some elements of the logistics and transport sector can be vulnerable to labour exploitation, particularly where temporary, migrant, or agency labour is used. We therefore work actively to identify and manage such risks.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We aim to work only with suppliers and subcontractors who share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. As part of our due diligence processes, we assess new suppliers on their labour and human rights practices, ensuring that they can demonstrate compliance with applicable legislation and ethical standards.
Camden Man and Van carries out periodic audits and checks on higher-risk suppliers and subcontractors. These audits may include a review of employment records, working conditions, right-to-work documentation, and evidence of their own anti-slavery measures. Where non-compliance or concerns are identified, we work with the supplier to implement corrective actions within a defined timeframe. Persistent or serious non-compliance may result in the ending of commercial relationships.
Training, Awareness and Reporting Channels
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks within our organisation. Relevant staff, particularly those involved in recruitment, procurement, and supplier management, are provided with guidance on recognising indicators of modern slavery and how to respond to concerns. Managers are encouraged to discuss ethical practices and worker welfare regularly with their teams.
Camden Man and Van maintains open and accessible reporting channels to enable employees, workers, and other stakeholders to raise concerns about potential modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Individuals are encouraged to report any suspicions or incidents to management or through existing internal reporting mechanisms without fear of retaliation. All concerns raised in good faith will be taken seriously, treated confidentially as far as practicable, and thoroughly investigated.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility that requires continuous improvement. Camden Man and Van is committed to regularly reviewing and enhancing our policies, procedures, and controls to ensure they remain effective and proportionate to our risk profile and business activities.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is reviewed at least annually by senior management to assess its effectiveness and to incorporate any lessons learned from audits, investigations, or changes in legislation and best practice. Where necessary, we will update our approach, refine our supplier requirements, and strengthen our training and awareness efforts. The reviewed statement will be approved at a senior level and communicated within our organisation and to our key suppliers.
By issuing this statement, Camden Man and Van reaffirms its clear stance that there is no place for modern slavery or human trafficking within our business or supply chains, and we remain committed to maintaining ethical, fair, and safe working conditions for all those connected to our operations.
